Positioning
      Starting from building its own innovation system, TTC is to design a perfect top structure, serve the innovation system of SUSTech as its mission. Based on its advantageous disciplines, oriented by the market, and focusing on the intellectual property operation, TTC is to develop industry-generic technologies, key technologies and forward-looking technologies, so as to create a technology factory with the characteristics of the SUSTech in terms of specialized, continuous, accumulative and large-scale innovation and initiate a highland of talents and original technologies in Shenzhen.
Idea about the industry-university-research collaboration
      Innovation is a complete technological and economic process from conceiving a new product or technology to putting it into the market, including fundamental research, application development, pilot test and engineering, outcome transformation, business incubator, commercial production, technology diffusion and etc. SUSTech has created a system in which an innovation chain has been built around the industry chain, and a chain of talents has been organized around the innovation chain to match the industry chain, effectively solving the problem that the technology and economy cannot be integrated into each other.
Strategy of the industry-university-research collaboration
      -To establish a modern institute system that is in line with the synergistic innovation law on industry-university-research collaboration
      -To establish an effective way that helps to cooperate with various units of the regional innovation system
      -To establish a public technology R&D platform for the development of strategic emerging industries and pioneering industries
      -To establish a management mechanism beneficial to knowledge transfer and technology transformation
Mode of the industry-university-research collaboration
      Forward integration:relying on SUSTech’s existing academic advantages and a number of municipal key laboratories, TTC will target some most valuable markets related to the university’s key disciplines and major outcomes. With such advantages as the core, it will positively plan a batch of leading downstream applied technologies and form an intellectual property layout in advance. Through projects and resource allocation, TTC will organize the downstream disciplines of the university to jointly research and develop some high-end technologies.
      Backward integration:combining with the development strategy and major projects of the state and Shenzhen as well as the needs of large enterprises, TTC will predict and define their future standards with product and system as the unit. Through reverse analysis, it will plan a series of technologies that support its goals, and form an intellectual property layout in advance. Through projects and resource allocation, TTC will organize the applied disciplines and fundamental disciplines of the university to jointly research and develop a batch of cutting-edge knowledge and high-end technologies.
Framework of the industry-university-research collaboration
Members of the working committee of industry-university-research collaboration:
President, responsible vice president, controller and leaders from research department, technology transfer center, school of sciences, school of engineering, school of life and health sciences, school of innovation and entrepreneurship, and etc.
Duties of the working committee of industry-university-research collaboration:
  • To coordinate the industry-university-research collaboration affairs, be responsible for the formulation of relevant policies on industry-university-research collaboration, and ensure such collaboration to be legal, efficient and orderly;
  • To be responsible for the university’s technology transfer, equity investment and transfer, and other major decisions on asset disposals related to industry-university-research collaboration;
  • To be responsible for giving suggestions on important personnel arrangements of industry-university-research collaboration;
  • To be responsible for decision making on major issues on industry-university-research collaboration.
