Technology development, consultation, and service
including collaborative development and sponsored development, is the main form of industry-university-research collaboration. By means of joint development with universities and research institutes or commissioned development, an enterprise will develop new technologies and products and make full use of its human resources and experimental equipment to overcome technical bottlenecks.
Technology transfer and licensing
By signing technology transfer contracts, an enterprise may receive relatively mature research outcomes from universities and research institutes, including the patent rights, patent application rights, and patent implementation licenses for their new technologies, new products, new processes and etc.
To jointly build the National University Science and Technology Park
By combining the comprehensive intellectual resource advantages of the university with other social superior resources, TTC provides a platform and service for the transformation of research outcomes, incubator of high-tech enterprises, cultivation of talents for innovation and entrepreneurship, and industry-university-research collaboration.
To jointly establish R&D institutes
To establish industry-oriented R&D institutes by using the SUSTech’s academic and specialty advantages to cooperate with enterprises in scientific and technological research and provide professional and generic technology service for enterprises.
To jointly undertake major projects of national science and technology plan
To undertake a series of major research projects by relying on the university’s state key laboratories or joint resources to systematically solve the urgent bottlenecks in scientific development or the key technical difficulties in industrial development, and to provide strong technical support for scientific and technological research as well as the implementation and transformation of innovative outcomes.
To jointly invest to establish a company or become its shareholder
To achieve commercialization of research outcomes, the university encourages researchers to establish technology-based enterprises. By implementing a series of policies like stock ownership incentives, organizing experts to evaluate the market prospects of technologies, and introducing the lawyer team to provide professional advice and etc., the university is to use its intellectual property to fund or participate in newly established technological companies to promote the transformation of research outcomes.
To link overseas research outcomes
To work closely with well-known overseas research institutes and to integrate overseas scientific and technical achievements into SUSTech’s research outcomes to form a complete technical solution; to introduce the entire overseas mature outcomes, incubate and implement them.
To jointly cultivate high-level talents
To establish a mechanism for talent exchange and cultivation and a talent training base together with enterprises, give play to the advantages of all parties, and jointly cultivate target talents; to emphasize the practicality and effectiveness of talents, cultivate innovative talents and promote original innovation, integrated innovation and renovation by absorbing advanced technologies to realize the common education and resource sharing of talents between the university and enterprises. By sharing their respective resources, the university and enterprises may combine learning and practice, so that their equipment and technologies can supplement with each other to reduce the cost of both parties. In this way, while the professional and technical talents are reserved for enterprises, the university’s research will be more market-oriented.
